Pathway to Zero – Evolution 15k – Methanol prepared

Sirius have placed an order of two plus two 15 000 dwt Oil/chemical tankers at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard, Yangzho. With the first delivery during 2026. The vessels will be prepared for Methanol propulsion and is equipped with the latest technology and comply with the future regulations.

With Methanol as fuel onboard the vessel is able to comply beyond the European Green Deal package: FIT FOR 55 and its FuelEU Maritime initiative. With future supply of E-Methanol the vessel is able to reach ZERO Co2 and almost non-existent NOx emissions. This is Sirius PATHWAY TO ZERO.

With Evolution 15K we’re taking another step forward – for our customers, colleagues and the environment. Our new tanker has been designed by Kongsberg Maritime to provide the highest levels of sustainability, efficiency and safety as well as excellent working conditions.

Characteristics:

• Length: 147.0 m / Beam 22.0 m / Design draft 8,7 m / 15 000 DWT /
16 800 m3 + 730 m3 deck tanks, being able to handle 14 grades of
cargo
• Methanol prepared engine and Methanol fuel tanks installed
• Hybrid battery and shore connection
• The vessel has an estimated EEDI 38% below the 2025 Phase III
requirements making it super efficient
